Ingrid Ventura Ellis

Ingrid Ventura Ellis earned her Masters Degree in Special Education from Liberty University and a B.S. in Family Studies from the University of Maryland. She also holds a graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis/Autism Spectrum Disorders from Penn State University and an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Montgomery College. 

 

Ingrid began her career at CSAAC and the Ivymount School receiving training and support from experienced state and national consultants. She has worked with students with a variety of abilities including autism spectrum disorders, expressive language needs, and motor and physical conditions. Ingrid has worked with children and young adults in school, home, and work settings. She has provided consulting, educational, and behavioral support to families through the Maryland’s Autism Waiver. She also has delivered training, assistance, and advocacy for staff, volunteers, parents and children in Guatemala, Ireland, and Italy. 

 

In the fall of 2015, Ingrid completed her Rapid Prompt Method (RPM) training with Soma Mukhopadhyay. She has also attended conferences and trainings from the Institute on Communication and Inclusion at Syracuse University and the Hussman Institute for Autism. In 2016, Ingrid started her journey to assist in an inclusion pilot program for students that point and type to communicate in the Maryland public school system. As an educator and advocate, Ingrid appreciates learning innovative methods of teaching that not only provide equal access to education to her students, but also empowers them and allows them to work on purposeful motor skills.
